With some of the plans I have for the website, such as adding some more sections, I decided I should add a new page to allow visitors to choose if they want to read the blog, see more about me, and access other parts of the site (in the future).
The theme has changed for this blog into a theme that I believe fits a little better. As I browsed through the themes available, I understood a lot more about the strengths and weaknesses of WordPress. As I said before, it’s a little more difficult to get everything exactly the way you want it. I did, however, find a great plugin that simplifies editing the site’s CSS.
One of the problems I was running into was using CSS for the site. Now, this is going to tell how much of a WordPress novice I truly am, but I found it difficult to try and figure out the exact class for the exact element I was wanting to change without having to go through a mountain of HTML and CSS, and in cases multiple files.
That said, the plugin is called SiteOrigin CSS, and while they have a premium version, the free version seems to work just fine. It allows for editing CSS manually, or by using drop-down menus and changing the site, seeing the changes as you make them. You can click on an element and figure out which part of the CSS relates to only that part and edit. This means no more pouring over line after line trying to figure where the element you’re wanting to change is.
Anyways, that’s all for now!
