Alright…. so the slowdown issues have been fixed, kind of.  The admin area still runs like a sick turtle sleeping off a bender, but the main site seems to be running a lot faster after using a plugin called PageSpeed Ninja.  I still have to try and focus on getting the admin area running faster, but for now most of the user interface should be running better.

I did note that it seems like the login process is slow still, however.  I’m going to look into it and possibly change the login interface to either a different program, or write a login interface myself.  I was hoping to make this blog entirely WordPress and WordPress plugins so I could gain the experience, but it might not work so well, especially with this kind of performance.
